Trick: Adding 9 to any number
"Instead of adding 9, add 10 and subtract 1"
Traditional Method:
15 + 9 = 24
You need to count: 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24
Vedic Method:
15 + 10 = 25, then 25 - 1 = 24

The Story of Vedic Mathematics
Vedic Mathematics was rediscovered by Swami Bharati Krishna Tirthaji (1884-1960) from ancient Indian scriptures called the Vedas. He found 16 Sutras (formulas) and 13 Sub-Sutras that simplify mathematical calculations.
Did You Know?
The word "Vedic" comes from "Veda" which means "knowledge" in Sanskrit. These techniques are over 2,500 years old!
